Phantastic beasts and when to see them...

...in my case: two days early - and then I was late for the press screening. Aaaaah. I think for the overarching sinister "how on earth do we poor little wizards and witches deal with the foes outside our little community (with office buildings Trump would be proud of)"-plot the first 7-8 minutes would have been helpful. *sigh* Someone up for a ( Read more... )

I'll want to go with you to see the movie again next week. (I'll email & thank you for your notes. OF COURSE I read them. :))

I cannot believe you were late for a press screening. Just sayin'! ;)

Haha, everybody is falling for Colin Farrell. I love him, ever since Alexander. And we absolutely agree on the shortcomings of the HP movies, with yes, the exception of PoA. I recently read a review of the HP movie series again, and the person considered PoA the worst of the eight, and I was like: Which movies did you see????

The more I think about it, the more I am intrigued by Tina. Which is a rare thing for me with a woman character. Maybe it's exactly because we get so little (seriously, too little, bad script here) of her that she at least fires my imagination. I hope they go for a Tina & Newt friendship in the next movies, and don't try to make them the romantic leads. Because, so no erotic chemistry, and Newt is clearly an asexual, anyway. :)

You'd be astonished to which things one can be late if one really sets her mind behind it.... *facepalm* It's not as if I plan for this but somehow it always happens. Understanding the patterns at work sadly does next to nothing to preventing it.

But, yes: repeat viewing - I'm mailing you!

I don't like Colin Farell that much - but in the movie he's really brilliant. And, next to Credence, nearly the only character to get adult's fantasies going. Because, you're totally right, Newt really feels nearly like a child. I bet you could easily divide the movie in a grown-up part and one for the kids (now this would be a brilliant feature for a dvd, as my kids would clearly like Newt, Jacob and the beasts but hate hate hate the other arc).

Tina somehow balances on the brinks of both worlds - interesting, but there's sadly so little to her story in the movie itself and I'm not sure I'm fascinated enough with this world to read what fic writes will create to fill the gaps...
