I think mincedniku is cute, but I understand wanting to change your name if it's not really "you" anymore. I've had this screenname before I liked anime, so I escaped the temporary madness of naming myself after a character I won't like, but... insomniel is hard to spell and pronounce anyways, hah hah.

EVERYTHING of mine is "elfgirlkimmy" and it's getting old for me too... Been that since... hrmm... at LEAST 5 or 6 years, if not longer? Makes it hard to change, and I don't know what I would change to. @_x

and i agree with you on nicknames... i think some of my more known ones are really just pulled out of my butt and i can't shake them, so when i meet people irl they think it's my name, and awkward conversation ensues.
