I know I'm super late, both in watching and posting this, but thanks to Spring Break I've finally got some free time.

About a week ago, my school (which can be supah cool sometimes)
decided to play Deathly Hallows at our campus's cinema. [yayisms!]

Because of the epic trailer, I wanted to say that this is their best film adaptation yet(!)

Sad that you didn't enjoy the movie as I did. I personally loved it and thought that so far, this is the best book to film adaptation. I will give you the fact that the tone wasn't quite right, at least not as suspenseful as the book, but I am grateful there was at least no sense of ease when watching. I am also glad that it was a direct translation from the book, nearly verbatim. (Harry and Hermione did make out in the book, which necessary to show how Ron really does feel inferior the famous Harry Potter especially in the eyes of Hermione ( ... )

lol i honest can't remember a H/Hr make-out session. musta blocked that tidbit out. I get why it would be relevant to the plot but i just can't stomach that scene.

The obliviating scene was heartbreaking, and sets up what i thought would be the perfect adaptation tremendously well. I'm glad that was added in.

personally, I'm not a fan of LotR but I just think that Fellowship is more a movie than DH; It works more for a film audience than DH did. Books and films are two different mediums and what works for one won't necessarily work for the other. Sometimes, translating a book verbatim will kill a movie. like i said, it was not a bad movie at all, it's just not my fave adaptation of the bunch.

I'm hoping part 2 will redeem this, that's where all the juicy parts are! :)

(can't remember which trailer i saw. mighta been the combined trailer but i didn't follow the opening this movie much so who knows. I'm not sure it would make a difference tho. I was just saddened by the lackluster tone of the film).
