She was the sole survivor of her colony, and we did take her in. She was raised as we would any of our own, and was a cherished child; bright and energetic, curious and headstrong, nothing would dissuade her once she was set on a goal.
For the most part, her early years with us seemed to be happy ones, marred by occasional flashbacks. After one particularly strong storm, she expressed a wish to become a warrior, and approached the task with her usual resolve.
When she earned her fledgehood as a Warrior, she was given her suit, as any young warrior would be. Tailoring one to her unique biology was, from what I had heard, quite the challenge. As the time came for us to withdraw from the galaxy, Samus expressed her wish to remain, to lay her troubles to rest in the form of the Space Pirates. So it was.
