Personality: Chrome is a moeblob. Let us analyze this.
In short Chrome is naive, shy, and determined. She has been described as an 'honest child' most likely because of her innocence and inexperience with talking to people. She's not very good at hiding her feelings from others. For the majority of her life she has been anti-social and, frankly, neglected by her family and has felt little to no love. The smallest action of kindness is completely foreign to her and she will have no idea how to react to it, even running away to get away from the situation. She's very quiet and doesn't talk much. If she does it is in a small voice. It can be assumed she has never had a true friend or close relationship until Mukuro entered her life.
Chrome's relationship with Mukuro is a complicated one. He has saved her life multiple times starting from their first meeting when Chrome was in the hospital. It is because of his existance that Chrome had a second chance of life at all. In the spirit of being born anew she even changed her name, originally Nagi, into the name we know. Chrome is completely and utterly devoted to Mukuro, as he is the first person she has had a real bond with. It has been hinted at multiple times that this feeling is tied in with love as well. Chrome is also aware that Mukuro's feelings and motivation towards her is probably not even close to her feelings and have to do more with possession rather than actual fondness. Despite this she accepts him and would do anything for him.
Interaction with others also plays a large part in who Chrome is. She views Ken and Chikusu, Mukuro's followers, as close friends and precious people to her. She is quite stubborn, following the two around even when they blatantly insult her. Even with these bonds she is shy about opening up to anyone else. It took her a while to open up to Tsuna and that was only because he believed right away that she didn't mean any harm when she arrived as his Mist Guardian. She is quite loyal to the family and shows her concern for them in her own awkward way. She doesn't seem to have memorized the other Guardian's names yet though, we can blame that on her social awkwardness. She has also become very attached to the other girls in the family including I pin, Kyoko, Haru, and Bianca. It is very rare to see her away from one of the girls after I pin got her to open up. They're usually the ones worrying about her and making her eat healthy food rather than snacks.
Chrome also fights only for her precious friends. The existence of people who truly care about her is special to her and she would do anything to protect them. Be this breaking Mukuro out of prison or jumping into the fray while her organs are failing. It is rare for Chrome to show fear in a fight either. She keeps a cool head and her determination to win. Very little seems to phase her either. She doesn't even lose her cool when Gal Mir was perving on her during a fight. Who knows if this is because of her lack of understanding of the real world or just a strong backbone hidden under the cuteness. Probably a mixture of both.
In conclusion, she is surprisingly less pathetic then her appearance lets on and she's a true believer in the power of ~friendship~.
Strengths:
- Chrome can create illusions with her own power. Even ones that are real and tangible with the help of the Vongola ring. Not like this will help her much in Route though.
- Is extremely loyal. She's got nothing to lose really so she'll do anything for those she cares about. Mostly that's just Mukuro and Tsuna.
- Moe determination to the extreme. She's dedicated and hardworking.
- She's pretty sharp and one of the few reliable Guardians that Tsuna has. She gets the job done.
- Also surprisingly strong for a thirteen year old girl. She twirls that trident around like it was nothing.
Weaknesses:
- For the majority of her life she was completely anti-social so she's not use to talking to other people. Very shy and awkward.
- Naive and gullible from her lack of interaction with other people.
- Not the best at taking care of herself. It is mentioned multiple times that she is malnourished.
- And even though she has the potential to be a great fighter she has never beaten someone by herself yet. She's almost always depending on Mukuro.
- She's a tiny thirteen year old girl.
- Oh, and the little fact that technically she doesn't have some internal organs.

[There is the sound of the mic rustling against fabric as the Pokegear is accidentally switched on. There are faint murmurings which are picked up by the sensitive mic.]
It's not an illusion but this doesn't look like the real world... The music is strange as well. If feels like something Ken would know about...
[Chrome trails off and there is only the sound of fabric and breathing for the following seconds. That is until a sudden exclamation.]
Am I dead? No, that couldn't be true. [and she starts talking louder, like she was calling out for someone] Mukuro-sama? [pause] ...Mukuro-sama?
Third Person Sample:
She was alone. She couldn't feel him, his presence in the back of her mind that always reassured her.
What was she going to do? She had no idea where she was or who these people were or what these orders were about. And he wasn't there to guide her. She had even been given a new uniform to wear. The Vongola ring was still on her finger but she couldn't feel her flame from it. Was she even still part of the family? Chrome was stuck sitting in the spiritless dorms. Alone. She had spent the majority of her life alone... Why did she have to go back to it so soon?
She couldn't accept this. Not so soon. Not after she had finally started getting use to her new life. Whoever these 'Rocket' people were could wait for her to return after she found her friends. She would be able to face anything as long as they were by her side. And Mukuro would know what had happened to her... She may not be able to feel them here but that didn't mean she could give up so easily. She could not live with herself if she gave so easily on her friends. She grabbed the satchel she had been issued, ignoring the Rocket uniform for her preferred school uniform.
Chrome clutched the strap as she walked past the grunts who guarded the entrance of the building. The shrill yell of the man made her jump. Before he could even ask her where she was going she sprinted full speed away, the guards giving up only after a few yards. She stopped to catch her breath at the edge of town and noticed for the first time her bright and cheery surrounds. This didn't really match up with her feelings for the place to say the least. It was pointing more and more towards an illusion with these unnatural colors and music that she couldn't escape from. As well as the fact that she was still alive without Mukuro pointed towards that explanation. But it just didn't feel like the right answer.
She just couldn't figure this place out. In the distance she could hear the loud complaining of a grunt, something about stupid new members. That was all the prompting Chrome needed to run out into the tall grass. She always was a problematic team member.
