[ it smells like dirt.

barnaby isn't particularly fond of dirt. or grass. or nature. oh sure, it can be nice to take a stroll in the park, or even maybe, i dunno, have a picnic out in a meadow or something, but other than that he's not much of an outdoor guy. trees and forests, what do. he is not okay with this.

[RIGHT! An hour. Do you realize what happens when you give Kotetsu a time limit here? He spends his time flopped over the couch, or looking at a clock, or wanting more than anything to not have a time frame of waiting. This feeling has a long-ass word in some other language. He totally read that once.

BUT AN HOUR FINALLY PASSES.

... And he still manages to be late by a little bit.

But he has to admit, seeing Barnaby at the fountain was pretty relieving, even if he felt guilty for it. Being kidnapped isn't exactly good. :|]

And he even looks the same as usual. Hat, bracelet, the whole shebang. The item shop was awesome like that. Even if he's still missing his ring ;;]

[ barnaby's been sitting on the edge of the fountain for several minutes now, waiting patiently and tapping his foot. he'd be more irritated at kotetsu's lateness were he not completely lost in thought.

but oh hey, that's a familiar voice, and barnaby's head snaps up. he sets the journal down on his folded blanket and stands, one hand on his hip. ]

I'll never forget that you wasted four minutes of my life.
