[It's too bad that things have been So Srs since Guy arrived in the RP. Because the truth is he's been itching to do this for a while, but simply put! Everything was just too dangerous to allow him proper time to geek out ( Read more... )

[And at your lovely display of technogeekery, we have one (1) red-eyed purple-haired young lady, just... well, staring. At the carnage. Good lord we've killed people in cleaner ways than this.]

Fonic?...

Fonic technology is what we use on my world. You want to hear about it?

[SPARKLE SPARKLE. HE WANTS TO TELL YOU]

[A-and she can tell. Oooh boy. Well, at least she's a good student, so...] If you wouldn't mind telling me about it, I think I would like that... I will try to understand to the best of my ability.

[YAY]

Of course I don't mind!

Fonic technology, or just 'fontech', is based around using fonons for a power source. Fonons are particles of sound present in everything in our world. Generally there are six elements of fonons: light, wind, water, earth, fire and darkness. By combining these fonons with memory particles from the core of our planet, you can create a lot of energy.

[Saya is exploring after having the whole barcode shebang explained to her. Thankfully, she already found the clothes, and has traded her stylish hazmat suit for a casual skirt, blouse, and jacket.

But here she comes across a guy who looks...decidedly out of place from his surroundings.]

Um...what are you doing?

[Doesn't speak quickly like a hyper person, just sounds RESOUNDINGLY HAPPY at this moment]

Right now I'm just trying to learn the ins and outs of electricity. How easy it is to recharge these 'batteries' is pretty amazing.

[Goddammit Guy why are you so adorkable]

Huh? You don't know about electricity? I only got a year of modern schooling, and even I know that.

It's not that I don't know about it. Of course there are many ways to create energy that isn't through the use of fonons, but there was usually a fonon that worked in a similar way that could be used instead. Simply put, combining the use of water fonons and fire fonons to make a violent energy makes a lot more power than usual actual steam. Similarly, with wind fonons an effect similar to this kind of electricity could be created.

I guess the full potential of other forms of energy were never explored because we always relied on fonons.

[oh durr hurr, Guy. Axel's not sure what to say about your... excitable state]

Just how many machines did you just pick off, kid?

[GUY IS SO HAPPY TO SEE YOU SO YOU CAN TALK TO ABOUT BORING ELECTRONICS]

Just seven or so, I think. There had to be at least a hundred different devices in that store. It'll take me a while to get through all of them.

[see, if Axel were smart, he'd run far, far away right now]

... You're gonna go through all of them. [wut]

Half of them I don't even know what they do. But look at this!

[PROUDLY HOLDS UP A HALF ASSEMBLED...THING]

Portable, personal flight devices. With this you can make anything from your chair, to your desk, to even yourself flight capable. It'll only go a few feet off the ground, of course, but I'm sure with a little work I can overcome that.

Fonic energy? [arches an eyebrow at that. amazingly, he's never heard of it before.] If it's not too much trouble, I'd like to know more about it.

[OH WOULD YOU REALLY]

I'm not surprised you haven't heard of it, but sure. I'd love to tell you. In fact, thanks to holo deck I could even give you a live demonstration.

Sure! Something tells me most people would only be interested in the fighting aspect, but I'd much rather talk about the technological.

And I'm Guy Cecil. Just 'The Doctor'?

Pretty amazing, isn't it? Can you believe these sorts of devices are common here?

I've...never even seen some of those before.
