Okay, people! I'm here to spread the joy of the Star Wars Machete Order!

Are you ready for this?

Until recently, when pondering the best order in which to watch the Star Wars films, the only options seemed to be either 4, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3 or 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Or, you know, some people choose just 4, 5, 6 and leave it at that.

But then I came across this

I just watched all the movies with my 5-year old and this was a big consideration for us.... which do we start with first? Well, we did the 4,5,6,1,2,3 method. Mostly because I thought that #4 is the best and simplest one for a child to understand. I felt that if she liked that one, she'd sit through the final two. And if she liked those, THEN we could go back and watch the first ones (I find 1 to be just barely bearable due to Jar Jar Binks, 2 to be altogether forgettable, and 3 to be pretty good). But I also felt like 3 was too dark for a 5-year old, which was another reason for saving it til the end

This is so cool, that you have options and have already tried out different orders! I'm now thinking about my 6-year-old niece. Depending on what age she is interested, we'll have to see if the Machete order makes the most sense for her. It does seem like kids would like THE PHANTOM MENACE(?), so maybe we'd have to do 4, 5, 1, 2, 3, 6. We shall see!

It's so funny you wrote about this! I hadn't seen star wars and wanted to watch the films but had no idea what order to watch them in so I went on the Internet and read an article that said the same thing and that is exactly how I watched the series (except I added in #1 cause it was my first time watching the series). What I loved about this order was that the series ended on the message of hope.
