where to go?

I have been talking with a close friend about my hopes, dreams, and plans for the future and it has led me to wonder if my current relationship is one that will grow, change, and evolve with the direction I want to go. I am not sure how to start this type of conversation and am worried that while he loves who I am, he might not love who I will

I can only speak from my window of experience. Careers and relationships (in question) do not mix. It sounds like you reached the point I had in which rational practicality is eating away the back of your mind, while compassion, love, etc. keeps the rest of you sticking around. Yours could be a completely different case. You do only have your youth once.
