i met my friend Jason for lunch and he surprised me by insiting on paying for it. went to my interview, which went well and I was offered the internship at the Times-Observer! most likely, I will end up telling her I want to do it, but I'm going to wait about a week to see if I hear from the other newspapers I applied to. got home from town today and got a call from the managing editor for the local Times-Observer newspapers. I have an interview on Friday about a summer internship, so I will be in town until Saturday now, instead of going back to Carbondale tomorrow. I'm excited, as this is the first interview I have for an internship.

originally, I wasn't going to head back to Carbondale til Friday or Saturday, as the dorms don't open til Saturday. after calling around to get a ride back to Carbondale, I am now leaving on Wednesday, as that is the only way I can get a ride & not have to take the train back.
