[Thread] Bluebird on my Shoulder [Open]

Who: Juugo & YOU!
Where: Outside Juugo's bunker
When: Saturday afternoon
What: Juugo's out for some fresh air...

Juugo would have given a lot to see a few trees scattered around the compound. As it was, the only break in the bleak expanse of the Nevada Desert, aside from the compound itself, were the blue, hazy mountains off in the distance. Nothing like the greenery he'd been used to back home, or even at Sound Facility. Frightfully dull as this landscape was, he couldn't help likening it to Purgatory.

He flexed his wrists idly, listening to the shackles cling together. Flimsy things, and about as reassuring as the guards who were technically "on duty." They looked as thrilled to be here as Juugo himself, scuffing their shoes on the asphalt, chatting about their plans for the evening, all of them with a hint of the nerves that overtook the lot of them whenever Juugo was not safely quarantined within his thick-walled cage. Juugo, standing head-and-shoulders above even the tallest of them and prone to wanton destruction, could sympathize.

An errant bit of desert sand was kicked up by the wind, and Juugo sneezed, the sound followed almost immediately by the clack of twenty-five automatic weapons and five dart guns being suddenly trained on his oversized figure. He shrugged sheepishly at the thirty well-trained men and women who had jumped out of their skin at his harmless outburst. Sighing, he tilted his head back to gaze at the sparse clouds high above them all. Necessity was a wearying thing.

To hell with all of it.
