I had a really shitty experience last night and feel the need to vent about it, yet I've put it off all day.  I've probably come back to this livejournal "post an entry" page like 10 times not knowing exactly what to say. Whatever, here it is:

Woah, that is so messed up. The questioning is pretty bad, but I can see how some people can just be really awkward and unintentionally asking inappropriate/inconsiderate questions but just groping you like that? How could anybody possibly think that would be okay? I don't think you're being oversensitive about the situation at all. That is just fucked!

Honestly, after 2 and a half years of living as an out trans woman I'm starting to believe that a lot of people have social niceties (ie: don't touch other people's bodies, don't ask questions about strangers genitals, don't ask intimate details about a strangers sex life, etc) that go completely out of the window when they know you're trans!

Let alone a trip to jail and explaining their actions to judge/jury... Damn- no one should be touched unbidden! I was going to post a equally disconcerting memory- but yours is enough to reconfirm my stance on handling such incidents. Ban them from the event they violated trusts at certainly. But there's the hanging sword of follow up on this case's perp ( ... )
