i use sparkpeople.com (username the same as here) - it allows you to track everything from basics to full calories and also has some nice fitness/exercise tracking tools

it's technically a free diet site, but a lot of people use the tools for other types tracking as well (such as me w/ all the various health problems - it helps me keep a better handle on issues and seems to be useful for me to narrow down what i've done/eaten when i wind up not feeling right)

As someone who photographs the same as you looked back in the DC and RenFest days, AND makes looking in shape to be just a genetic predisposition, I am very much taking your suggestion seriously :)
