So far, my hurricane preparedness kit includes:

* lots of batteries
* cool new battery-operated lamp
* snacks
* candles
* food I don't have to cook
* giant bottle of tequila

I was just thinking we should get prepared, but I'm expecting the whole thing to miss us. Because that's what usually happens.

That's why I don't have any preparedness -- the last hurricane that hit here was the last summer that I went home during college, so I have no idea what to expect. Sounds mostly like a wicked bad nor'easter.

I think we should expect a lot of wind and rain that makes us stay inside, possibly without electricity.

That's pretty much what I'm figuring. We're inland enough. And maybe I'll get a free day off work? The libraries are probably doing a brisk business today. (Dickson Bros. was full of freshman and their parents buying space organizers)

Ugh, we haven't done squat as far as I know. I realized last night though, that if we need to ride out the storm in a place with no windows, there is always our 5 feet of hallway.

I'm pretty much praying for the Structural Integrity of that big living room window.
