BEDA Entry 25: Tired From Montgomery

Apr 25, 2009 22:37

I realized tonight when I woke up exhausted from a nap that I didn't really NEED to take a Dailybooth picture just because it has been over 24 hours since I have taken one. I didn't NEED to upload my pictures or write an extensive blog entry just because I went to Montgomery today and visited Fitzgerald's home, the Rosa Parks museum, and Dr. King's ( Read more... )

I'm very easily addicted to things on the internet, so I understand at least somewhat. I personally like it when I'm away from the computer for a day- I like that I don't miss it when I'm gone, at least not usually, because that means I'm probably not TOO addicted. It's nice to get away sometimes.

I think once BEDA is over, it might be wise to do the week long "un-plug" from the internet thing. I've known I should do this before Alex started the "trend" :-p I think finding an "internet rehab" would really help, lol.

I can tell we've both made improvements like tweeting less and not turning on phone tweets whenever leaving the computer for an extended time. And once BEDA is over there will be less for me to catch up on daily. I still want to try and keep up DailyBooth, but will probably go easy on the commenting. YT will be the hardest I think, but I'm cutting down on subscriptions somewhat. But ya...need to be less "livin-online" and closer to what my username is supposed to stand for.

yes. i remember those days before the internet and we all were surviving just fine. our memories didn't fade just because we didn't blog about it and we still remembered people's faces even though they didn't post pictures.

You don't sound like a purger either. you sound like a thoughtful human being.

I know what you mean about feeling obligated to get online and check all your things. Often times on busy days I say things like, "And I STILL need to get on to DailyBooth and YouTube. And I need to write my blog." At these times my sister rolls her eyes: "Kiera! You don't have to do these things...you have all these dumb online projects that you think you need to do, but you don't." Though I get annoyed at her for this sometimes, she IS right. It doesn't kill me when I miss a day, and no one should put all this online stuff ahead of their offline life on her priority list; it's that simple...

Sounds like you got to see lots of cool stuff in Montgomery! I can has F. Scott Fitzgerald? He's freaking amazing sauce.
