How about translation of fanfics? I mean, the phenomenon, voluntarity etc. Or you could discuss the difficulty of translating uncommon types of text such as fantasy which has a lot of different coined words?

yeah, that was one of the first things that popped into my head, but i dunno... see the thing is, the teacher is a great big snob and only approves of topics, direct quote, "worth the academical interest". *snort* go figure. so anyway, fan fiction is just... i mean he barely accepted my livejournal presentation and yacked a bit about it afterwards, just to prove a point or something.

and the other thing, it isn't that big of a *phenomenon* really. sure there's the few odd communities, but still it's a relatively small subculture of netfandom, as it were.
