Don't want to put you down, but at least in Powermill (they deal in Fu-Si mostly, also Acer and some smaller brands), if the HD was broke they just swapped it for a new one and maybe installed Windows. So here's to hoping that Things Have Changed / the faulty part is, for instance, motherboard instead of the HD.
