Dean grinned back at him, before settling back into the bleachers and watching his kid play. He actually didn't make it to a lot of games, given his hours at the garage, but when he had the opportunity to go to a game and spend the time with his kids, he wouldn't pass it up.
The game had been good so far, and he just settled in with the rest of the parents, talking a bit to the couple he knew, and just watching the kids as they had a chance to play.
He was only on defense, so Ben wouldn't be one who made a game winning goal. But he was good at keeping the other team from getting the goals to help his team win anyway.
When the game was done, Ben grabbed his helmet and ran over to the bleachers, grinning. "You see that last tackle, Dad? I totally won that game."
"If we make the playoffs, would you take time off from work to come see the games? We always win when you're here," Ben sat next to his father, holding onto his helmet tightly.
