If another person calls me 'dear', I'll go nuts. Not typing it, but saying it. I've heard it all day, and it took an extreme amount of self control not to start chucking buckets of cream and sharp knives at everyone around me. I hate that word. Actually, I just hate it when people say it to me like I'm some child, cause I'm obviously not, and if ( Read more... )

*lol* Well, I think I'd much rather be called Chippy or Old Fart at this point in time! That's how bad I hate Dear. Omg, I think I hate her! It's all her fault! She makes it sound so patronizing when she says it. Damn assistant manager. I hate her. I do.

Lol! I used to say "dearie" a lot. It pissed off all of my friends. No one's ever called me dear except for really old people, and well, they don't count. I usually say a word that's over six syllables, so the whole inferiority complex usually stops there.

Eep. I can't even bring myself to say anything that sounds like a pet name, like "dear", "honey", etc. Just makes me cringe. I don't care when other people say it to another person, as long as I don't have to say it, and other people don't call me that!

Well, when old people say it to me, it's okay, I don't mind much.

*lol* So do they usually understand your six syllable words when you say them?

I'm not really sure. Either they do understand or they're totally bullshitting it. Like, they could just be nodding and agreeing to make it seem like they understand when they really don't.

*lol* That's what I would do! Except I don't think I've met many people who talk to me with words longer than 4 syllables...
