So democracy was on my side, but just barely. Because of this, and because of the many valid points and concerns which were brought forth by those folks less than convinced by my app, I feel it’s only proper that I respond with an essay to explain in greater depth my views of the game, story, and characters of ICO before I begin playing. So, wonderful, awesome essay, at least what I read of it (skipped the story section but read everything else because GODDAMMIT I WILL PLAY ICO ONE DAY I WILL FIND IT IN ONE OF SWEDEN'S GODFORSAKEN GAME STORES AND I WILL BUY IT ARGH RAGE etc) and I think you will fit right in. Apping a a solemn character is never easy, but with both you and Gaara in here you have proven that it can be done!

And hell yes, play ICO if you can! In all honesty, I'm not really all that widely-played as gamers go, but ICO was still a special experience for me. I'd heard the hype of how it was supposedly one of the most critically-acclaimed PS2 titles... And it lived up to it.

Also, would you say it's a hard game as far as combat goes?

It's also frustrating because you start out with only a stick as a weapon--so you're swinging at these demons with a piece of lumber, and it generally takes quite a few hits to "kill" them. They, meanwhile, can knock you around like a red-headed stepchild--you don't die or even suffer damage or anything from it, but if the beating prevents you from rescuing the girl, it's game over. Eventually, though, you can find better weapons, and that makes combat a hell of a lot easier--by the time I got a sword, I was just waiting for them to come back and try kidnapping my princess.

Thanks on all counts! I really owe you for being willing to listen to my desperate arguments and kind enough to switch your vote, so I'm glad you're not regretting those decisions. See you around!
