Life, I find, is a word that is rarely any more than a board game, a cereal, or one's current social standings in relation to their "getting out" quotient. Seriously, think about it. And, my solution is to try just about everything that life throws at me.

In the case of cycles, what you're saying is true, but only if you leave life as it is. It throws cycles at you, and /you/ have to be the one to make things exciting. If you sit around and wait for life to dazzle you, then you likely won't get too far. However, you seem to have a pretty good grip on things.. you're creative, at least. *grins* What's bothering you?
