Dental Mishap

Randy, myself, and Evie have both medical and dental insurance for a short period (March through end of July). Randy has so much work on his teeth that needs to be done. He had some of it done by a dentist out in Los Angeles when we had our prior insurance. But then Evie came, our insurance ended shortly after her birth, and he didn't go back to do

That's awful!!! The dentist had NO RIGHT. What was he trying to do, earn the extra money from an extraction that wasn't needed? More's the fool him, since Randy and you were both leaning towards putting in an implanted tooth below it. All of that aside, it was so completely wrong of him to do anything other than what Randy specifically went there for, it's just unconscionable. I wonder what he will say, at Randy's next visit??

I'm so sorry that this happened to him, and also how it has upset you, too. I understand that feeling of hurting for someone you love, who has been hurt or mistreated, all too well. The older we get the more important it is to try to hang onto our teeth, and that choice was just taken right out of Randy's control. I would never trust that dentist again, especially with this supposed treatment plan that never makes it into your hands. Grrrrrrrr....

Randy went to the dentist's office this morning to pick up his tooth with the gold filling since he can scrap out the gold and get money out of it. Mabye $60 at the most. He'd rather have his tooth than the measley $60.

The dentist didn't come out to say anything like, "Sorry Randy... I though we had an understanding of what was being done" or some similar apology/acknowledgement. No one in the office addressed it.

We won't be going back there. And Randy is now going to seek legal advice.

I know you and Sem know all too well about being improperly treated and the fear/upset/distrust that comes with that. The whole tooth thing is only a tiny fraction of what you and Sem have gone through... and both of us are so flippin' upset. And you've had to go through it again and again on a much larger health scale and with much bigger consequences.
