the_pilchard friended me. I'm not sure if I should be moving my tassel to the left side and dancing a jig, or if I should shelve the jigger and be frightened. One bad maneuver on my part and he might flick me into non-existence. Semolina of the Highlands has a fierce reputation

A jigger is also "a small glass adequate to hold a single swallow of whisky" which could also have had something to do with fun, fun, fun if enough jiggers were involved.
Good for you for giving up refined sugar! I know how hard that is, and even though I'm more for savoury things than sweet ones, I would not like to give up all the goodies forever. I'm glad that the migraines have mostly stopped, though - at least you have a definite result that makes it worth it! I do read, more and more, that sugar is as bad as - or worse than - fat, in terms of diet (well, excluding saturated fats, but you know what I mean). There's a lot to be said for cutting back, or cutting OUT, refined sugar.
It kind of sucks that the things that are worst for us are the things that taste the best!
The election... ugh.
the_pilchard has not killed me yet, not even once. Be brave! :-D

Your squee over Evie (rhymes!!) is officially in the book of world records.
Avoiding the migraines is definitely a huge motivator!!

Giving up refined sugar must be very difficult, given how ubiquitous it is. I imagine it will become easier with time. Good for you!
Your daughter is beautiful and very like you, Deb tells me.

It's been over a year since I gave up sugar and it hasn't become any easier!! Keeping it out of the house is key. But right now those trick-or-treat bags are calling out to me. I tried to get Evie to let the Switch Witch come and take them away, but right now she prefers the candy over a toy.
Thank you for the nice compliment about Evie!!
