Who had a little curl,
right in the middle of her forehead.

And when she was good,
she was very, very good.

But when she was bad,
she was HORRID. That is the oldest lullaby I remember from childhood. My mom thinks she can’t sing, so I got nursery rhymes in lieu of lullabies ( Read more... )

My parents learned very early on that head injuries bleed more.
Oh, that is never, ever good.

You sound more accident-prone than anything! But still not as bad as the woman I knew whose parents put her in a crash helmet as a baby. She would run toward things when even walking was a challenge for her, and then she'd carom off of them or just trip. What a nightmare. :O

I did wonder if someone would tie freckles and feckless together, and you did! :D

I wanted to write something about freckles, but I wasn't up to the challenge: congratulations! When our son was born, the very nice delivery nurse revealed her true self. He cried so much that the nurse told Halfshell that "every family has a challenging baby, perhaps this will be yours!" The way she said it made it sound like she was a bad fairy cursing him. She was a much better nurse than evil fairy; our son turned out fine.
