Back in Milwaukee. The return was celebrated by a trip to the Bradley Center to watch the Bucks impressively lose their 20th game of the season to the Washington Wizards. My friend rescued a guinea pig from Pet Land whose ears are all gnawed on, probably as a result from sharing a cage with too many guinea pigs. Pet stores are so sad sometimes. She was wondering too if the store was bad enough to report, so I'll relay your similar findings to her.

Your comment brings up a number of questions that I've always been wondering about. Where exactly is the line among animal people when it comes to caging policies? Every pet store I've been to always has a large number of rodent creatures living together, ranging from mice and hamsters up to rats and even ferrets and rabbits. But they never have any of the larger animals like cats or dogs at the pet shop; they usually just refer you to the local shelter. Seems like unless you argue that the smaller guys are less intelligent than dogs and cats, it's just as inhumane.

And then there's the debate of no-kill vs. kill shelters and the issues involved with them.
