Meh, people in their west coast bubbles don't know the meaning of the word muggy. Come to NC some summer and you'll learn all about oppressive humidity.
I've been to Ohio in August once. That was enough for me. The air was not discernible from a wall of water - and I'm sure there are worse places.
More interesting to me is that I didn't notice the humidity at all when I was here last summer, but coming back, the difference was acutely felt. Edge sensitivities are always bemusing. Measuring absolutes doesn't seem something we're well tuned for.

Mostly I noticed it when I was in high school. In the summers, my family would go out to the Arizona/Nevada desert along the Colorado River where it's very dry and very hot. I'd always notice this weird stickiness when I got back into coastal Orange County. Now of course, in Chapel Hill we have lovely summer weather where it will be 90F and raining, but instead of the rain cooling you off, you suddenly find yourself not just wet, but covered in warm water.
