Wow. Helena started 1st grade today in her new school, Coulterville Elementary. And she got to ride the bus! Yeah, we do live 2 miles down the road, the same exact road, from the school, but she was so excited about it that we let her ride it. I wanna seeeeeeee it!!
And yeah, my mom? When she put me on the bus the first time? She followed the bus, and CRIED the entire time. When she told me about that years later, she still gets all choked up. It's funny. I was exactly the opposite. I was like, "Dude. Just get out the car and go on. Have a good day! I'll see you at 2:45. BYEEEEEE!" *queue the screeching tires of me speeding away as fast as I can* (Well, not really. But I wanted to.) Our kids- we know this- are massively independant and just damn awesome kids, they can handle it. Apparently, my Mom thought I was incapable of anything... hahahaha! Showed her. *snort*

I didn't cry. I am more like you where it's like have fun see when you get home. But I also just like to see her experiencing news things and being herself. The person she is when not being influenced by us. She was amazing! She set her bookbag down and started playing with some kids right away! There was no sitting by herself even though she didn't know anyone, she just jumped right in. And then when it was time to go in she remembered her bookbag! I was extremely proud of her!!! And that is what gets me all veklempf. That she is just so amazing! And those photos of Vince are awesome!! He is soooo cute!!! I know how proud you are of him. Yep, we are very lucky to have such amazing kids!
You sure did! My mom cried too I think. I was like Helena, Vince, and you where I was like "bye!"
