So of course, I'm all wooly and having kittens as we're driving in to catch the Very First Showing this morning. And I'm all "What if there's a pile up on the freeway?" or "What if the film breaks and we can't see it?" And bridie is being all reassuring and saying "There's never been a pile up on this freeway, and I know a back way anyway, and if the ( Read more... )

The Operative. You know but I thought his was a good freaky character. Like Jubul Early - wonky in a very frightening way. But quite bonkers enough for me to be uneasy about being in the same 'verse as him. I'm still not sure Mal shouldn't have offed him.

Yes, Zoe. She has had enough I should think. She was talking to Wash about kids and such not so long ago. ::sigh:: I suppose it's realistic, and it would be too much for them to go through all that and not lose anyone at all... Dammit Joss, you're ruthless!

I stood outside the cinema like a lemon - a lost sniffly lemon - until the pals collected me up and made off home with me.

Totally stunned.

I teared up in the theater, and as my roommate can attest, I've said, "I can't believe they killed Wash!" about thirty times now. Good sign, though - he'd never seen the series and really liked the movie even though he didn't know what the hell the back story was. Now he wants to watch my DVD's. Yay!

Ooh, that's nice too because you then have the excuse to watch them all again.

Wash is dead and I'm still sniffling like a baby.

Expect to be for a while - Jackson and I sniffled for a good long while after the movie, and everytime Serenity was mentioned. Now we just don't talk about it anymore. Heh.

It's a horrible moment, but I think it's also a testiment to Joss that it is so devastating to all of us who are dedicated to the series. He made that character so believable for us, made us love him so much, that his loss couldn't be anything other than devastating. Hell, I couldn't even watch that scene the second time I saw the movie - I had to turn away.

But I have to say, I'm glad Mal didn't kill the Operative - he was sooo cool! Mind you, I do have a thing for assassins. ;-)

Oh man I can't wait until the movie comes out here. I wanna see it *again*!! *bounceboucebounce*
