My sister (who lives in Vancouver) used to own a house just across the fence from an older gentleman with a HUGE PIE CHERRY TREE. She got some every year.
I found, that although I'm really good a pie making in general, I SUCK at cherry pies. I actually tried three major times to create a decent cherry pie with fresh pie cherries, but I failed. Horribly.

I hope yours turns out awesome. And I'm glad you're 27 exclamation points happy about it.

Realistically my pie will be cherry soup with bits of tapioca all surrounded by soggy crust, but I still like it.
