Annoyances and amusements

I'm not good at routine when it comes to housework, but one of the few things I can usually manage is a couple of hours of tidying on a Sunday morning whilst listening to Michael Parkinson on Radio 2. I just looked at those titles - they're hilarious, especially that they provide options for Earl, The Earl and The Earl Of. I think I was most taken with Field Marshal Lord, particularly if it accompanied an order for the girliest items in the catalogue. :-)

Of course, I just love the idea of some titled person sitting down to order a catalogue from them with great approval: "Finally, someone catering for us!"

You're not the only one to be thrown by Radio 2's weird scheduling decisions. I listen to the end of Parky as a lead-in for the Elaine Page show. I know Radio 1 is celebrating its birthday, but is R2 too? I didn't listen last week, so I don't know if they said this was happening. So, no background music for me this afternoon.

That's a bit cruel about ol' Kenny. He was the funniest thing on TV when I was about 11. Genius!!
