Piece of Beauty

I finally found a copy of the summer edition of Interweave Knits in Borders on Thursday lunchtime, and glanced through it at my desk during the afternoon. I was quite disappointed with the patterns, the only thing that caught my eye was the Montego Bay scarf, which looked like a perfect holiday project.

De-lurking to say thank you so much for pointing me in the direction of Piece of Beauty and her gorgeous yarns. I have just put in an order for some of the seasilk-alike - to join the other seasilk in my stash!

That is seriously gorgeous yarn and such a beautiful colour. I can't wait to see the finished scarf.

Lovely, Lovely scarf.
I have been looking for this magazine for ages now purposely because yours looks so great.
I cannot find it so will have to make it from looking at your blog.
The yarn you chose compliments it beautifully.
knitty, witty, woo.

I've been meaning to ask for ages if you could give me the basics of this pattern, as I've got some pink silk I picked up in the JL sale which I think would make a good drapey scarf. (I would try and buy the magazine, but it's not around anywhere I can find.)

Here you go!

Cast on an odd no of stitches (the pattern uses 43)

purl one row.

k3, (k2tog, yo), rep to last 4 sts, k4

purl

k4, (k2tog, yo, rep to last 3 sts, k3

purl

repeat these four rows.

I used a lace cast on, and a stretchy bind off to make the ends flare out.
