What's this Maus book about?

Maus is a graphic novel about the Holocaust. Yes, you heard that right. It's a true story -- Art Speigelmen's father was a Holocaust survivor, and the book chronicles his father telling the story of his survival. What's shocking about it though is that there are parts that are hilarious. Because it goes back and forth between the son talking to his dad about writing the story, and then the actual story itself. The relationship between father and son is really funny, because his dad is kind of a nut (understandably!).
It's called "MAUS" because Speigelmen depicts the Jews as mice and the Nazis as cats throughout the novel. And I think "maus" is German for mouse?
I HIGHLY recommend it. You can read it in a few hours.
