I originally came over here to read your latest fic, but upon finding out what a fabulous writer you are, I decided to check out a few more of your stories. This was my first stop. Admittedly, I don't care for Harry/Ginny fics, but I was dying to find out who the unidentified half of Harry/? was. I'm so glad I took a gamble with this. Not only did I enjoy your Ginny characterisation IMMENSELY, I actually felt for her, and that is no easy task. I'm going to rec this in my next recs post.

Oh, thank you very, very much again! :) I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I'm going to rec this in my next recs post.

And thanks again! That's absolutely wonderful; I really appreciate it.

I think I'm officially stalking you now. >_>

Yet more beautiful fic! It was so quietly tragic; I, like Ginny, felt unable to look away, as if I were reading about an accident... *shivers* I can see Harry and Ginny ending up this way all too easily, really - canon never did very much to convince me they were right for each other. Most H/G infidelity fic you see seems to make Ginny the bad guy, though, so this was refreshing, in its own heartbreaking way. *cuddles Ginny*

I have no problem with being stalked! :D Thank you very much for reading and commenting. :)

It's wonderful to see comments on this one again too. Like you, I've never quite been convinced about H/G, but I do feel Ginny gets very bad press in fandom. It seemed a good idea to try and redeem her a bit, even if she isn't exactly the typical JKR heroine.

Oh, thank you very much! :) I think JKR's less than golden couples are intensely intriguing: H/G and Remus/Tonks are intrinsically (to me) much more interesting than Ron/Hermione, who fit so well.

I do tend to think that Harry would be the guiltstricken sort of unfaithful husband

I absolutely agree, but I think he'd also get to the point where everything's going to hell around him and he's just going to try and save himself. I always wonder whether making such huge sacrifices in DH would actually deplete his store of empathy and willingness to be the hero. And of course, alcoholics are really difficult to live with: I'd like to hear Harry's side of this.

And I'm so glad you liked the opening paragraph! I really wanted people to plunge straight in there, and I can't tell you how happy I am that it worked for you.

I must also thank TMP for the rec! :)

And sorry about the edit! I had to get rid of those italics...:(

I've been meaning to read this since you posted it, and themostpotente's rec finally jogged my mind at the right time.

It made me really sad, basically. All the little details of Ginny's submergence (great, horrifying image at the end there) into alcoholism felt so right, so spot on. I especially liked her trying to keep things under nine units - a ridiculous goal to anyone who doesn't drink heavily, and yet sadly plausible.

I know there's blame on both sides, but I really hated Harry here. Yes, I'm probably over-identifying with Ginny. >_> At first I thought maybe he was only just discovering his liking for men, but on second thoughts I suspect he's been doing this for a while, it's just Draco that's new. Which just makes me angrier.

Wonderful writing, as always. But I'm glad I have a happy H/G fic to beta-read for a friend today, to cheer me up again. :-)

Thank you very much! :) I'm absolutely stunned by your insight into Ginny's 'submergence': do you know, I never once thought of that! Much of this fic just happened, and seemed sort of inevitable. *impressed*

I really hated Harry here.

Well, like I just said to perverse_idyll, Harry has to live with an alocholic, and that mustn't be easy. On the other hand, I also like your insight into Harry doing this for a while, because it does make such sense. He's such a difficult character to pin down really, but I'm never quite sure how much I'd like him if I met him in RL.

Enjoy your beta! :) And sorry to bring you down. :(
