woop woop, update time...!

it's going to be a short one as i'm still at work, hehe. i'm not posting as often as i'd like to on LJ as i keep getting distracted. these days, fic writing is getting lost in the midst of Downton Abbey fangirling and squeeing at Doctor Who's return. As much as less fic writing is a bad thing, you totally have good reasons for neglecting it. I haven't been keeping up with Dr Who, but it's good to know someone else has been watching Downton as well! XD (Though am I the only person wondering why Bates doesn't need a stick any more...?)

I keep meaning to sign up with tumblr. Is it fairly easy to pick up?

Omg I am so into Downton at the moment! I suppose as an Edith fan, it's really nice to see her getting some more episode time (and attention, on a meta and in-series level). And I have to admit, I didn't realise Bates' cane absence until I read your comment. Good point...! Maybe it was confiscated because he might batter his inmate to death with it, what with that nasty temper of his. To be honest though, Bates' story doesn't interest me now - I usually groan once he's on screen. Hopefully it'll pick up but I don't think it's anywhere near as interesting as Edith's wedding (yay!) and how the Thomas vs. O'Brien feud is going to pan out. Oh and Mrs Hughes...! T_T (People need to stop asking Dr Clarkson for his opinion; they're better off asking Isis ( ... )

Edith is secretly awesome, and I totally agree, it’s great to see her getting a bit more of the limelight. I wasn’t too sure when they brought Anthony Strallan back in whether it would really work, but now I kind of think it does…even if I have this horrible suspicion tonight’s episode won’t end well for them. D: Whatever happens, I’m sort of hoping she’ll be the one who ends up with the power to save Downton. Despite what happened in the first series, by now I think she’s earned the chance to have that!

I’m always kind of suspicious of Bates. I mean, when your wife says “you didn’t kill your previous wife”, I’m pretty sure the answer is meant to be “no” if you’re innocent, not “how can you be so sure?”. Yeah. I’m kind of hoping expecting that to be the big reveal after he gets released: just for him to go “yeah, well actually...”. It’d totally screw with everyone’s minds ( ... )

I haven't watched yesterday's episode yet, but omg, it'd be an amazing twist if Edith flew up in ranks and had the power (and money, from Strallan's side?) to rescue Downton. As much as I love Mary, I think it'd be interesting to see her eat humble pie and grovel to the sister she often took extra care to bully ( ... )
