you know, feminist11 is absolutely correct; on a rainy day, there's nothing nicer than having that connector between the EUC and the Library ( Read more... )

We'll be talking about Chinatown in class shortly, so that'll be fun.

I will expect a complete report.
:)

I saw on the Weather Channel (eh - it fascinates me) that Raleigh was going to get 7 inches of rain today?!

Sorry, but there's really nothing interesting to report. Much of the class is struggling with mise-en-scene, and there was virtually no discussion of Chinatown. We did watch clips from Mahunter and Ghost World to demonstrate shot composition, but, yeah.

The Freudian undertones of Eraserhead from yesterday was far more interesting, but I suppose that's the difference between a 200 level class and a 500 level class.

You're burning the past-midnight oil!

Too bad about Chinatown - I think it's one of Polanski's finest. Aside from the Fearless Vampire Killers, of course.
;)

Yeah, the Weather Channel was all about the Carolinas tonight. Seriously, with 4 bazillion channels you;d think I could find something better to watch - oh yeah, there's Celebrity Duets!

Have a good weekend - I'm off to Northern California for the holiday - we leave early tomorrow a.m. Watch out for Ernesto!

yeah i know, and I have to be up at 7 for class. oh well. just got home from an evening out. Having Efraim McClintock back in Greensboro brings out many a desire to catch the various members of the gang up and spend time together...

My dad showed me Fearless Vampire Killers when I was but a wee lad. I've loved it ever since, but it might give you some idea of how I turned out like this.

Why is the weather channel not talking about that Hurricane coming up the west coast? it's only THE FIRST TIME IT'S EVER HAPPENED!

Three day weekend, with rain to boot. I can't complain. I guess it means I need to come up with something for NSS tomorrow... again, having 60% of the Pit Crew in Greensboro is most helpful... just no Neil or Patrick... well, and no French Buddha (he lives in New York)

enjoy Northern California and the holiday. It'll be the first labor day I haven't worked in six years.
