What a traumatic issue to have as your first. "Hey, neat, it's Spider-M - oh no, his aunt is dead!"

Also, I think that's the most charitable description of the clone period I've ever read.

And I totally agree on Brand New Day. The book's been a lot of fun since then, moreso than any other time I've read it. I don't get the point of the new Web of title, though. We don't need it.

Remember, I grew up during the clone saga, so that, to me, was what Spider-Man comics were like.

Web, as I understand it, is kind of along the lines of Tangled Web - side-stories focused on villains or secondary characters. I'm cool with it, because Kaine!

You poor, poor guy.

But I shouldn't talk. My first comic was X-Force #1.

But will Lady Octopus return too?

Sadly, no. After I saw the cover of the issue, which depicted two sets of octo-tentacles, I thought they were baiting-and-switching us with the Aunt May/J. Jonah Jameson's dad wedding, and that the promised wedding would be that of Dr. and Lady Ock, but no. Octavius just has more tentacles now.

Amazing went 3x a month because they canceled the other Spider-Man titles (or changed the titles). Marvel is doing everything they can to get DC-like numbers on their books.

Hulk however is the most ridiculous. Incredible Hulk became Incredible Herc(ules) continuing the current volume's numbering. Hulk started a brand new numbering 15 or so issues ago (title is just "HULK"). Incredible Hulk #600 came out the same day as ASM600. Technically it's issue 1 because Incredible Hercules is continuing, HULK is continuing and Incredible Hulk is starting at #600.

Personally I like what they are doing with Deadpool. Screw everyone, he's just jumping straight to 900.

Wait, so in the late 90s, they rebooted Spider-Man, but then later started up where the left off before the reboot? Am I getting that straight? (I only read scattered issues featuring Hobgoblin, mostly from the mid-to-late '80s.)
