Hello everyone. The keyboards here in Germany have a few rearrangements so I apologize if I make a few mistakes.
Okay, i should probably begin at the beginning. The flight over here was very long and tedious. This was due in part to the nine-hour duration but also to the unfortunate circumstance that my personal tv monitor was broken and stuck on the channel that repeated The pacifier with Vin Diesel. I was planning on reading but they turned out all the lights and i needed something to drown out my neighbor's snoring. Here is a picture I took in he bathroom.
As expected, it was raining in London. All i got to see of the city was one building out the window. Here i am drinking tea and waiting for the connecting flight.
When I landed in Dusseldorf, there was no one to meet. i travelled with Scott gairdner and as we were the last students to arrive and the AIB was tired of driving students around they made us take a taxi to our respective host families.
This is where I live.
My host family is very nice and easy to live with. MAx and Kerstin are in their mid thirties and have two children. I don't see Phillip and Alex (ages 5 and 3) very much because they are usually at school when i wake and in bed when i get home. Kerstin is very sweet. Max and I get along pretty well. The other night we drank and laughed at ebaums's world. Here they are:
Here's my room.
My first weekend in Germany was spent at Max's brother's 44th birthday party, which was hosted at a "hay hotel." We slept in troughs of hay.
They did some crazy party games, including walking blindfolded through a field of mouse traps.
It was way out in the country. It looked like the scene of the motorcycle chase from the Great Escape.
This sign says "Feistbetrieb," whcih is indicates that this town has many festivals and that motorists must watch for falling drunks.
Here are some cows i met.
I've almost had my fill of castles. they are everywhere.
Dusseldorf is a really beautiful city. Here is a veiw of the Rhine at night.
Here I am in front of a cool looking building.
We all have to get around the city by various trains, busses and trolllies. Here is the subway.
This is Dusseldorf's main train station.
here I am waiting for my train.
the other night I acidently boardd the wrong train and ended up in the middle of nowhere. It resulted in this picture.
I think that's it for now. Tommorow I leave for Paris, so if the camera stops acting up I should bring you some pictures from that trip. until next time, guten nacth.
