This describes how I experience life.  My anxiety is not a pathology, it's a natural reaction to sensory imput.

"I find myself needing to withdraw during busy days, into bed or into a darkened room or any place where I can have some privacy and relief from stimulation."

Interesting. But why do you conclude from this that your condition is not a pathology? If your anxiety interferes significantly with your daily life, then it seems to me it should not be regarded as a mere character trait (which I take it is the relevant alternative to regarding your predilection to anxiety as pathological). The reaction the immune system has to allergens is also 'natural' -- whether this reaction should be considered pathological might have to do with the severity of this natural response ( ... )

Me too.

The solutions I've found to work so far:
-- have an hour or more to myself every day to zone out alone somewhere, preferably my room, where I feel safe.
-- go for a long walk, just let my legs go where they may and see where they take me.
-- find somewhere to hide and just cry.

That last one is only if the other two aren't feasible.
