I thought the same thing as you, that me and all my friends would stay friends. Boy was I wrong! When I went to college 4 hours away from home I lost touch with all my friends, even my best friend since 1st grade. Not like we didn't want to keep in touch, just we were both so busy we had no time for phone calls and visits. The same thing happened with my girlfriend and we eventually broke up. True it was probably because she was still in high school. We were just in such different places in our lives, you know what I mean? There is such a huge difference between high school and college. College was such a huge step in my life that I absolutely benefitted from but it pretty much destroyed all my relationships. I'm not even that close with my brother anymore. Anyway, good luck with keeping up those meaningful relationships and good luck at school. I've heard UH is great!
