Hey, Dave! It's Heather. Not sure if you knew I was watching you here.

Anyway I have a question. A friend of mine for Christmas wants a Pennywhistle and I was wondering if you could recommend any oak or nice tin whistle in the D key? Either links on-line or if you know of a store in Seattle that has some, that would be grand.

Thanks! :)

What kind of price range are you looking at? the wood ones can be pretty spendy, even the cheaper ones are over $200. In the lower price ranges you can't beat a dixon or sweettone, the dixon is plastic and has a great sound, they usually gor for under $20, the sweettone whistles are made by clarke and designed by copeland, for under $10 they can't be beat. Another option is susato, great sounding plastic whistles for around $20. You can find most of these at lark in the morning on 1st ave in seaattle or dusty strings in fremont. I've also still got a good selection of whistles for sale, I've got a dixon and a few sweettones, no susatos though.

I'm a big fan of the Susato. They have a great sound and are pretty easy to play for a low-end whistle. But that's just my 2 cents :)

They're a really good whistle for the price, loud too.
