Calling all Drama lovers!!

So, I've been taking a Japanese class since September. About two sessions into the class I found out that my teacher loves dramas and keeps pretty up to date with them (I also found out that she's a NEWS fan, heh) . Since then, at the end of each class I've been hanging back and we talk about the shows we're watching for a little bit. Now that the ( Read more... )

Damn, ruin my fun!

How about school dramas? The vocabulary can't be too difficult in those. GTO, Hanadan, Nobuta, Dragonzakura, Taiyou to Umi... would Nodame or MBMH be too hard to follow with the music/yakuza stuff? Hmm, ROOKIES might be too violent and gay to be appropriate...

I'd recommend Bara no nai Hanaya for a really beautiful drama that spans all ages, but you probably want something funny/slapstick, right?

Oh! I know! How about a kid-centric drama? I bet everyone could follow that.

I know, right? I was so looking forward to sharing masterpieces like Mendol...

Funny would probably be the best. I'll take a look at those you suggested.

I was thinking possibly HanaDan as well, I just wasn't sure if the romance would get too intense for the men-folk in class.

Kid-centric sounds good too!

*looking at drama list* How about Liar Game? There's a lot of math/money involved, but they explain all the strategy with plenty of visuals.

For kid-centric I was going to suggest something like Edison no Haha or Joou no Kyoushitsu, but if there are dudes in class, maybe not. XD

Ah, Liar Game! I actually started that forever ago and never finished. That may be good actually.

Edison no Haha and Joou no Kyoushitsu aren't good for men?

I don't mind at all.

I hadn't heard of these 15 minute dramas. That sounds like a great idea, since we wouldn't have to worry about trying to finish a whole long episode during class.

Thank you!! I'll definitely look into this (and the Waterboys drama too, my friend has recommended the movie, but I haven't seen either)!
