okay, so i researched this for you, but didnt get vry far as i dont know whether you have a mac or pc.....
go to apple.com, then click on support and go to the support page for the ipod. there is a banner on the side of that icon that you told me about, and it says, "if you see this icon when starting your ipod, click here" or something to that effect. click there......
