Okay, now I have to read this just so I can prove you wrong that someone else out there has read it too. Also, this would make an AMAZING movie if it's treated right (and not like a popcorn survival summer movie).

Pretty much everything I have said I already squealed over with you. HEY, some of these choices are not surprises! ;D

Heee! Hopefully you'll like it if you go through all that effort to read it. It's a good book, but a little odd. It would definitely make an amazing movie if it was done right. The author specifically said that he didn't want to write something chronicling the heroic struggle of the survivors, because that's been done so many times, and is also very unrealistic. So this story is really rather bleak, but a lot more accurate to might actually happen. But it's also a fantasy and there are lots of elements of that, so... Yes, basically it would make a good movie, but will probably never happen. :P

I did sort of inexplicably cast a lot of British actors to play Americans. Oops! :P

This is seriously awesome and I may just have to kill some time now that I'm done with my semester doing something like this. That said, I AM SO SAD THIS MOVIE ISN'T REAL! Or well, not real per se, but that if it would ever get made it wouldn't be with this stellar cast.

Also, I am going to have to check out this book -- the nuclear arms race is something that fascinates me and its origins and just how it affected the world. And um, I'll just stop now before I go babbling on about the Cold War and the Truman Doctrine and MAD and yeah, hi, history geek here!
