A wondrous game for everyone's enjoyment!

This has been going around and I've never done it, so now's the time. Great way to rediscover forgotten music on your playlist, as I've learned!

Go ahead...guess away! If you like the look of any of the lyrics, just let me know and I'll tell you who they're from and possibly send you a song or two.
One thing: does anyone know how to make a strike- ( Read more... )

"24. Insolent boy this slave of fashion, basking in your glory..."
TOTALLY Phantom of the opera :D when he's singing to Christine through the mirror. *is proud I knew one!*

"41. One is the loneliest number that you’ll ever do..."
No idea what it's called or who it's by but I know it :-P

I looked it up and to do the strike out thing it's

#4 "Cemeteries of London", Coldplay. Whyyyy do I know that?

#11 seems suspiciously like "Like a Virgin". Probably the version from the Moulin Rouge soundtrack, since it says "she" instead of "I"?

#25 is "Yesterday" by The Beatles, o' course.

#29 is "Age of Aquarius" by... somebody. 5th Dimension. It's in Hair, too, isn't it?

#34 - is that "Astral Weeks" by Van Morrison or have I lost it?

#37 - 10cc, urrrrr... "Ready to Go Home?"

#49 is "42" by Coldplay. Again, dunno how I know that. I'm not sure I even like Coldplay much.

Okay. That's it. That's all I've got. This looks like fun though. P'raps I'll have to give it a shot.

Oh, and I found your journal while browsing LJ randomly (through Mock the Stupid, I think it was), so... that's why I'm here, posting... things... uh. Suddenly I feel very creepy. x)

Wow, I'm impressed--you really know your music! That's an eclectic mix of guesses, there :)

And naw, you don't seem creepy...in fact, you seem rather interesting. Is it alright if I add you?

Thanks - I have rather eclectic tastes in music, and it's one of the things I'm most passionate about, so I tend to be pretty good at these sorts of things. :P

And that's absolutely all right, please do - gods know I could use more people to talk to, hehe.

40. "(Noldor) Dead Winter Reigns" by Blind Guardian.

I recognize 41 but have no clue about title or artist. The rest are a mystery... Number 7 sounds a little creepy.

I might do this. It sounds fun.

Right indeed!
And thanks! It was a lot of fun; time consuming, yes, but strangely addictive.

I'm lousy at these things and I don't think I recognize any. Sorry

Aww, don't feel bad! I've never been able to guess on anyone else's, either. I can't remember lyrics and titles unless I'm listening to the song they belong to, for some bizarre reason.

1. Van Morrison- I can't remember the title, but it's the first track on Tupelo Honey.
2. Rob Dougan- I've listened to it hundreds of times and I'm the one who sent it to you, but I just can't think of the title.
3. Dave Matthews Band- Crash
6. Melissa Etheridge- Somebody Bring Me Some Water
7. Toad the Wet Sprocket- Know Me
10. Rob Dougan- All I Want
14. Knockin' On Heaven's Door, I'm guessing the Eric Clapton version
20. Dave Matthews Band, Crazy? I'm not sure on the song name.
25. The Beatles- Yesterday
32. I think this is a Dave Matthews solo one, but I can't remember the name.
36. Dave Matthews Band- Rapunzel
38. The Waterboys- When Will We Be Married?
41. This song had been recorded over and over for decades, but I can't remember the name. The most well-known version of it recently was the Aimee Mann one from Magnolia, so I'd guess that one.
47. Tori Amos- Take to the Sky
50. Metallica- Don't Tread on Me

There are some others I just can't place, and a few that other people got first.

Yay, I knew you'd get most of them with ease! And if you haven't noticed, my player really seems to like Dave Matthews Band.
