lots of snow. for some reason no one here clears the walks. the reason is that if you clear the sidewalk here you become responsible if anyone get injured. if you leave the sidewalk covered in ice and snow and someone falls down and cracks their head open you arent liable. this is the last straw. who wants to go live somewhere with healthcare ( Read more... )

breaking into hotels through their indoor/outdoor pools never gets old. i need more nights of booze and waking up with 4 other people in my bed. i could really save on utilities. natural gas prices here are terrifying.

Writing letters is easy. Sending them is really hard for some reason. I guess because things here are changing so much that by the time I put a letter in the post everything in it will be null. I am alive and trying to keep busy. Mostly I just make lots of soup. Soup and stew.

Narcissus and Goldmund by Herman Hesse is the most important book I have ever read. My life changes for the better every time I read it.

Im making good plans to winter on the west coast.

after having a friend do some research i think it is completely possible to transform myself into emily brodsky. as far as general body type we really arent too dissimilar. but yes, the ears will have to be pinned back. a good shave, some selective dyeing of my hair, and some contacts should take care of the rest.

So my home is secure and I'm trapped in a lease. A bittersweet accomplishment. The place where I live is the second space Ive been in my whole life where I really feel comfortable with the walls around me. I have my little "house all covered in vines." Cobblestones, dim globes, sunflowers, huge trees, old piano, typewriters, hummingbird invasions, porch swing. It feels good to have a bonafide house. There is an extra bed at my place. It can be yours whenever you want.
