Let me tell you something, ignoring the NFL's desire to have 90 game balls with those smooth balls + rain (something neither side deals with all year) causing like 40 turnovers...
He only threw bad passes cause his plays sucked. They were up and they had only 1/3rd the offensive production as the Colts, and about 1/3 the time and plays to boot. That second pic... you can't throw a rocket in the rain, you have to throw a hanger so it doesn't fall short. they were all double covered.. feh.
I didn't care who won, per say, so... let's ask the the Bear's defense where it was most of the game. 200 yards rushing?
The plays might have sucked, but Rex wasn't helping. In that second pick, he had two other men wiiiiiiiiiide open, one near the first down line and one about two yards out from the line of scrimmage, but Rex wanted to throw a hanger downfield into double coverage. Any one play, hey it happens. But over the course of a game a pattern develops.
As to the Bears D, they were hanging tough until the 4th. They gave up a lot of yards rushing, but very few points. It was a one-score ballgame until pretty late.
I never get how QBs are supposed to be so good, but have such bad decision making. Iowa had that problem all year with Drew Tate.
But at the same time, you have to fault the coaches. Again as with Iowa, your QB is making mistake after mistake after mistake and yet you do nothing. It's as much Lovie's fault for not benching Grossman in the most important game of the season as it Rex's for throwing stupid passes.
Well, who did they really have who was better? They were behind, they had no running game (their offense was pretty much pwned by the colt D, the true hero of that day), and all they threw down field was covered, if not doubled...
