A Day Like Today...

May 12, 2009 10:44

I can't say I'm in love with my job. Can't say I'm in like with it either. But a day like today makes me feel every year wasted behind this desk, doing the same thing I've done for ten years. First I can't find my shoe, then it's my keys. I'm here ten minutes late to my first meeting and I realize I left my glasses on the kitchen counter ( Read more... )

I know what it feels like to be stuck in a job that's not right for you. It's a scary feeling. But things can always get better when you least expect it.

Happy birthday in advance. Hope you're doing something fun to celebrate.

*takes your hand*

I feel your work pain, trust me. I'm not out of the muck yet, but getting there slowly.

My birthday is Friday ugh,

Sending out happy thoughts for you, though I was pretty much the same on my birthday. Just do whatever makes you feel good that day is what I say. :)

*hugs*

I know. I feel you. And right now there's a gardener outside my window beating the HELL out of some hedges at the bottom of my stair.

As a result my left eye, the nerve below the socket is twitching! *head to desk*

Feel better and happy birthday in advance, though I will remember. I *will* remember! LOLOLOLOL

Followed (err, stalked?) you here due to your "Smoke and Mirrors". First, I hope your birthday gave you 'rainbows all over your blues!'. Second, jobs are a necessary evil. I'm a government mule due to my degree, my stubborn streak of not finishing a Master's program since may end up being a process in regurgitation, and the fact that I really prefer 'hands on' contact with consumers. Right now I'm looking for something in the private sector since my newest post got cut when the governor went to sit in Obama's cabinet and the new governor axed some new hires (myself included).

Keep on counting those blessings. And I'm really, really enjoying reading your 'output'. Boss with scratching problems, eh? Maybe some 'get away' powder on his chair seat....hmmm, might make him scratch inappropriately even more but that could be worth a stifled giggle.....

Loved your post! Thanks so much for peaking inside my little world. New to LJ so I'm trying to get the ropes and understand how to create and play. And thanks for reading Smoke and Mirrors. I was kinda nervous about that story. I got some Trekkie things wrong and I was sure folks would call me out for it. But nah, everybody is so cool. As for the 'get away' for my boss. LOL! I'll take it under advisement. Good luck to you!

Just let me know if you need some good old hotfoot powder...or itching powder....I'm not evil, I'm simply full of moral ambiguity!
Thanks for the good wishes...things are 'turning out'....not in the way I thought I wanted I've tried to let the Universe have the last say.
Maybe a jar of Blue Star ointment on his chair would get the message across...snort!
