...most of them were probably half arsed testimonies.
I don't see how we can comment on the verdict of the trial when we were not there. We were not a part of the trial; we did not sit there throughout the whole thing and evaluate all the evidence given. The only thing that the Australian public is founding their opinions on is twisted and contorted information which is spat out of certain television programs and media giants.
I am too upset to hear that someone was sent to gaol for 20 years. It is a horrible sentence, especially for someone who appears to be nice and innocent. Even if she is guilty then I do still feel sorry for her. I suspect however that no one involved was totally innocent, and she is merely a very good actor.
Nevertheless she has got the public of Australia behind her, be it for just reasons or not.
My point was that a lot of the information we are receiving is biased towards certain quite clear objectives. You can see it in every article you read on the matter; they begin and end with a clear objective to evoke a reaction in Australian society - to milk Australia’s strong passion and patriotism. I don't mean to imply that these are bad attributes at all, merely that I fear people are being "ruffled up", so to speak, so that they can get an interesting story out of her horrible ordeal
( ... )
May i just also point out that my above post was not directed at the Indonesian judicial system and more so that the Australian Government and or QANTAS have done nothing to try and assist Miss Corby when they know very well that there is a definate lack of security with baggage handlers.
As for the Indonesian judicial System, it does seem rather unfare that the Bali bomber gets 4 years for killing about 170 people yet Shapelle Corby gets 20 years for failing to put a lock on her boogie board bag. It hardly seems fare does it. It also seems somewhat corrupt that in 480 drug cases that the head judge (from shapelle's case) has heard all of these people ahve been found guilty.
However as i said in the begining of my post, that is the Indonesian way so we have to live with it. My point is that we can do more from this end to help her prove who may have done this... The thing from listening to the 3 judges verdict is so important to them and the only way she will be let off.

Can i also just also point out that my post isnt intentionally being critical of the Indonesian legal system, YES there are parts about it that i dissagree with, however like i have said numerous times, Its there way and we have to accept it.
My post and outrage is aimed at the lack of effort the Australian governement and our major airlines, who both know that there are major inaddequacies(spelling??) with the security of baggage handling, have put in to find the "real" culprit in this case. One thing that will meet the Indonesian Judicial requirements of finding Shapelle innocent is to point the finger and give them someone to blame.
Any action I take is going to be aimed at The Australian Governement and our leading airlines.
