Bitter Sweet Nostalgia

I was watching STTNG yesterday and it raised this wave of nostalgia. When this came out I was watching it in Canada with my family. I was a preadolescent even then I knew there were thunderstorms on the horizon for our family. Still I could lose myself in the optimism of the moment. My Father was the scifi fan in our house. I'm with him. we're supposed to work to live not live to work. besides. the insinuation of STNG is that the military is the police, and it's galactic AND based in the US-it's propaganda!

is it too early for this joke?

I go through stages where I feel such a deep poignant longing for the end of this system it almost hurts.

My Father is now disfellowshipped but his influence on my life for good or bad can still overhwhelming.

It is interesting to study nature vs nurture. How much of what we choose is because of our enviroment and how much because of our inborn nature. Always makes for an interesting conversation.
