hi kids, it's been a while.
So, since spring break, eh? it makes sense though, i've been completely swamped with work. little sleeping and even less free time. actually, last week was the first since spring break that i was able to make hang
the dj (and what a nice return it was)! i've realized without my weekly on-air stint, i go a little crazy. you've got to dilute the chemistry with a bit of melody sometimes.
speaking of hang the dj, whomsoever doesn't know, i have a radio show with two of my friends on wednesday nights/thursday mornings from 12-2 am. it's always a good brit-rocking, indie-spinning, and guilty pop-dancing time. stream from www.wtburadio.org
back to business, 2005 is turning out to be an AMAZING year for music, at least for me.
we've only made it through march and look:
-bob schneider @ paradise
-neko case @ the roxy
-the futureheads and shout out louds @paradise
-new beck cd
-new bright eyes cds
-debut futureheads cd
-new (amazing) decemberists cd
-new adam green cd
-new doves cd
-the get up kids broke up
-debut of montreal cd
-new stereo total cd
not to mention the discovery of many many bands i had been formerly deprived of.
and what's coming up:
- new new pornographers cd
- therefore, new pornographers on tour
- new weezer cd (although most likely disappointing)
- new spoon cd
- which means spoon on tour...or playing gigs at home
- of montreal @ tt's
- weezer in boston!! (although it sold out in 2 mintues. bastards)
- stereo total @ tt's
- ben folds @ avalon
- and the most important, the CMJ convention in NYC in september (college radio thing. yes. yes. oh yay.)
erm, on to current events?
spring break. spring break. lots of new york state, little of new york city. lots of snow. jersey, sickness, bad musicals. the end.
(chemistry chemistry chemistry frankenstein)
week after. party at olin. yay! engineering and tequila and orgasms! numa numa! happy one month. bad italian food, good mike's pastry.
(chemistry chemistry chemistry galton)
last week. new york city, here we are! oh my god, it's alan ruck! alright darling, back in the closet. family! hello high school kids. oh look, band parents! "tito's cute" x 103810282. godiva much? tuna steak! happy easter. please, no photos at mass.
(chemistry chemistry chemistry...chemistry)
mmm, leaving shelton! frivilous sunglasses, necessary underwear, and beck! indian food, thumbs up all around. sin city, thumbs up 3/5. very well done, in my opinion--very artistic and aesthetically pleasing yet disturbing. "he made me watch!". don't care if it was "predictable". technically, if you had read the comic books from which it was adapted, it should've been predictable! too choppy? wasn't supposed to flow. open your mind! educate yourself! aaaaand super smash.
and now you're caught up.
happy april.
oh, and by the way, scratch elevator, insert disney store. wait...mass pike.
